Business Development Consultant

Sisedi Investment Group has an opportunity for a qualified Business Development Consultant to join the team. The incumbent will form part of a dynamic team responsible to provide strategic management and provide sound stakeholder engagement and relationship management to cater to Sisedi’s clients.

We are looking for a talented and hard-working individual with excellent and innovative problem solving skills, excellent communication (verbal and written) skills in English with the ability to explain and translate complex investment concepts into simple and intuitive communications.

This role will work under the supervision and in close collaboration with the Chief Investment Office.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for institutional and retail client servicing and retention using a good understanding of investment markets, company portfolios and views on the Namibian savings landscape
  • Required to actively disseminate the company’s message and contribute to the implementation of the business’ sales and growth strategy
  • Responsible for the provision of the full range of technical marketing services, including provision of better and more insightful information, research, thought leadership, enhancements to existing communication and educational material
  • Required to use a wide depth and breadth of experience and sound judgement, to add value through client-centric communication and engagement to create, curate and deliver correct, consistent messaging to clients and prospective clients
  • Responsible for the development and oversight of material relating to new portfolios and services and structured rollout thereof in support of asset accumulation strategies
  • Required to arrange events and campaigns to grow both the brand and the assets
  • Required to represent the business at conferences, investment panels, assets management and industry events
  • Required to analyse and identify trends, using insights to facilitate the transition of assets into the business’ solutions
  • Required to act as custodian of company clients
  • Responsible for being the conduit for all institutional and retail clients between investment and operations teams and ongoing meeting of clients’ requirements
  • Required to build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, as well as designated consultants and potential clients;

  • Required to be aware of the company’s full product range and make clients aware of alternative products where appropriate

Skills, Qualifications And Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Investments, Financial Management, Economics, Business Management, or any relevant business-related disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years current, relevant experience
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Broad marketing, communication and sales experience in all areas of investments and asset management industry
  • Sound stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills in English with the ability to explain and translate complex investment concepts into simple and intuitive communications

Senior Research Analyst

Sisedi’s investment has an opportunity for a qualified investment professional to join the team. The incumbent will form part of a dynamic team responsible to provide strategic management and oversight of assets invested on behalf of Sisedi’s clients.


We are looking for a talented and hard-working individual with excellent analytical and quantitative skills, an in-depth understanding of investments, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organisation.


This role is responsible for research, modelling, analysis and provision of relevant information for listed and unlisted asset classes, as well as for making recommendations on alternative investments.
This role will work under the supervision and in close collaboration with the Chief Investment Office.


Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • The Senior Research Analyst role will require the candidate to analyse numerous industries and identify viable investment opportunities.
  • This will entail establishing and maintaining relationships with senior management of other companies, investment bankers, consultants, brokers, and other related professionals, researching companies/assets that would be potential investment targets, and maintaining a database of investment opportunities that are being marketed in the open market.
  • Once a particular investment opportunity is identified, he/she will be responsible for researching the company, performing due diligence on them, assessing their risk, understanding their strategy, and preparing an investment memorandum to present to the investment committee.
  • Provide fund/market updates to the Portfolio Manager i.e., monitor fund exposures, cash/FX positions, wider market movements and generate portfolio risk reports as required.
  • Executing on trade decisions effected by the Portfolio Manager.
  • Participate in stock selection processes.
  • Work alongside middle office and external fund administrators to generate ad-hoc investment reports.
  • Knowledge of current market conditions, language, and/or culture of some emerging market within the Common Monetary Area are strongly preferred.
  • Assist in fundamental research on South African and Common Monetary Markets, with a view to producing, defending, and maintaining a comprehensive investment case.
